Tongtai was established in 1969 and started from producing special machines. After ten years of hard work in the south part of Taiwan, Tongtai became the biggest manufacturer of special machines. In the ‘80s following the expansion of Taiwanese economic, Tongtai also started to expand into the international market.In recent years, Tongtai opened around 80 bases for direct and indirect sales overseas, and opened a factory in China, Wujiang in 2003. Using local resources got Tongtai some price advantage and better access to Chinese market.
Beside a machine tools field, in 1988 Tongtai started to invest into PCB machines manufacturing, and now Tongtai is included in the first three PCB manufacturers worldwide.Tongtai has clients from all over the world, including the motor vehicle industry, aerospace industry, electric industry, medicine, home appliance manufacturers, molds manufacturers, processing equipment industry, simple parts and brittle parts manufacturing, such as sapphires, hardened steel, ceramics, glass and so on.
In order to complete product line and global service capabilities, Tongtai invited partners who share the same goals, such as Honor Seiki, Quick-Tech, Asia Pacific Elite Corp, French company PCI-SCEMM, Austrian company Anger Machining and made them Tongtai’s strategic allies, constantly expanding the Group. Together they developed a resource sharing strategy, to provide more integrated products and services to every industry that requires precision machining.
